I do this every time I am about to head out of town. I have every intention of getting my stuff together early, but I always get distracted doing something different. Like TV. I mean really, would you pack instead of watching the new episode of The Walking Dead? Actually, I don't want to know the answer. My TV addiction runs deep so my priorities are clear.
Short answer is... TV addiction supersedes the need to pack for my week long trip. Obviously.
So I end up staying up until all hours of the night before I leave and my reasoning for not packing earlier in the week seems ridiculous. Was The Walking Dead that important? Probably not. But seeing as I do this every time, I thought I should start a packing list. (Trying to make my life a bit less cumbersome when I start packing at 9 pm. I can sleep on the plane right?)
So here we go; the Tall Girl Travel Packing List
For the Plane Ride
Small carry on at your seat:
Zip pouch with kindle, snacks, passport envelope, credit/debit cards, ID, pen to fill out customs forms, headphones, tissues, sleeping pills, Chapstick because your lips get so dry on airplanes, and most importantly an empty water bottle. This pouch goes in the seat pocket or in the small area next to your seat.
Small carry-on above your seat:
iPad, wallet, jewelry case, maps, guidebooks, sunglasses,
In your carry-on or check in bag
Contents of jewelry case:
Fake pearls with matching earrings (quick way to dress anything up), wear silver/gold ball earrings on the plane, watch, large dangly earrings (gold or silver), maybe one more necklace pending the trip.
Shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, sweaters, leggings, socks, underthings, gloves, scarves, hats, coats. My main thing when I am packing is actually singing the Head Shoulders Knees and Toes song.
No really. I am so not kidding.
Head: hats, hair things, bobby pins, hairspray, jewelry, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner,
Shoulders: shirts, camisoles, bras, sweatshirts, sweaters, under layers, scarves, coats, body wash
Knees: jeans, pants, underwear, belt, leggings.
Toes: socks, shoes, flip flops, blister aids, band aids.
Repeat 3 times... Kidding...Kidding, well kind of...
Eyes, ears, mouth and nose: make up, jewelry, face wash, q tips, medication, feminine products, chapstick, kleenex, glasses, sun glasses.
I hope that helps a little bit. Is there anything that you won't travel without?
